The OSLON® Compact family contains several devices:

OSLON® Compact CM & CL
Compact lightsource with two different chip and packages sizes proven in many applications.

The OSLON® Compact CM with a light emitting area of 0.5mm² is specifically designed for AFS Matrix Beam applications with more than 12 pixel. The OSLON® Compact CL with a light emitting area of 1mm², is particularly developed for edge-coupled lightguides for DRL and low/high beam applications as well as for front turn indicators. In addition, the OSLON® Compact CL family includes another high-power LED solution for use in head-up displays. A ceramic converter in all OSLON® Compact products ensures an excellent brightness and color over temperature behavior.

OSLON Compact PL
New photodiode generation: revised package concept for improved thermal performance and improved stability for mechanical handling and reliability.

The OSLON Compact PL comprises single as well as multichip configurations for low/ high beam application with best in class luminance performance. Its compact size enables narrow positioning especially beneficial for ADB Headlamp solutions. The products combine the latest UX:3 chip technology with a homogenous light emitting area giving highest flux performance for easier optical design and thermal management.

Smallest LED format for automotive lighting with two different chip and packages sizes and also in InGaN yellow.

With the OSLON® Compact CL + CM, OSRAM Opto Semiconductors contributes to system size and flexibility. On the one hand, there is the OSLON® Compact CM – with its even smaller package specifically designed for AFS Matrix Beam applications. The light points in the headlight can be placed in any arrangement, and customized designs can be developed to give different vehicles a unique appearance. On the other hand, there is the OSLON® Compact CL, developed particularly for edge-coupled lightguides and low/high beams.

The yellow OSLON® Compact is an addition to the two white versions and is ideal for front turn indicators. Thanks to its compact design it can be used in particular to create light guide solutions.

Osram Opto Semiconductors has also developed the OSLON Compact CL, a high-power LED with a color locus that has been specially matched to TFT displays and the relevant white point requirements. A ceramic converter ensures that the color locus remains constant even at high temperatures. This high-power light source with its 1 mm2 chip and extremely compact package is ideal for use in head-up displays.
